Survivor’s Sanctuary Community Workshop Series: Healing As A Vehicle for Healing

February 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join members of Survivor’s Sanctuary for the third installment of five bi-monthly workshops held in February, April, and June 2024. ‘me too.’ has invited content experts to bring Survivor’s Sanctuary themes to life in interactive workshops.

Members are invited to build community and deepen their healing journey as we collectively explore healing in action. In December, we had the privilege of learning from Healing Justice practitioner Erica Woodland about the lineage of healing justice, and how survivors can use this framework in our collective healing journey.

We will continue the series in February with a friend of the organization, Dr. Shena Young. Dr. Shena is a is a licensed body-centered psychologist–healer, artist, and Iyalorisa of Osun and Obatala in the Isese tradition of Ifa. She owns a private practice, embodied truth healing & psychological services, rooted in Los Angeles, CA where she offers mind–body–heart–spirit care in healing from sexual, racial, intergenerational, and ancestral traumas. Her book body rites: a holistic healing and embodiment workbook for Black survivors of sexual trauma.

Together we will explore how we use cultural tools and practices as a way to support and deepen our healing journeys. This workshop is open to BIPOC members of Survivor’s Sanctuary.
