Now that are you present, let’s begin…
Body awareness is how you recognize where your body is in space, and it can support you with deepening your mind-body connection. This activity aims to support you with cultivating a consistent practice of being aware of your body, and documenting your awareness.
The first activity is a brief sample one, followed by another one that gives you 24-hours to complete it.
Activity 1: The Body Listening Moment
- Take a moment to look around and name where your body is physically located at in this moment. Be as specific as you can.
- Look at your body and find something to be grateful for, and thank that part of your body.
- Move & stretch different parts of your body and pay attention to where you feel tension, tightness, discomfort or are aware of something else.
- Acknowledge each part of your body that is communicating with you – your way.
- Capture what you notice.
- Thank yourself for taking a moment to do this.
Activity 2: The 24-Hour Body Awareness Journey
Over the next 24-hours, pay close attention to your body while you are navigating throughout your day. Acknowledge your body when it communicates to you and jot down the information that stands out the most.
At the completion of the 24 hours, review your notes and choose the one thing that you will consciously integrate into your life that could enhance your body awareness. Get present:
